Brian Thomson

FOUNDER

 

In the 1960s Brian was a prolific guitar player during the Blues era in and around London. After he retired from being a Mechanical Design Engineer he decided to form the Wave Blues Band in 2012 alongside David Drife.
Wave Blues Band have gone through many changes in ten years and are still strong and raising the roof every chance they get!

In late Spring 2025 we announced the sudden and unexpected loss of our dear friend Brian Thomson. Brian Thomson guitarist and vocalist was the original founder of Wave Blues Band over a decade ago. We miss our funny talented blues brother. We send our love to Brian's beloved wife Rosemary. When he introduced himself at shows with the band he always referred to himself as Rosemary’s husband. Our hearts are broken but we will take some comfort in that he knew Wave Blues Band was still going strong. It was his wish for us to continue the Wave Blues Band legacy and after a period of mourning we found a new lead guitarist. The music plays on!
